Impermissible to call Jesus 'the Lamb of God'

Question

is it halah to call Jesus the lamb of god?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

It is not permissible to call ‘Eesa (Jesus) may Allaah exalt his mention the “Lamb of God”. In addition to it not being mentioned in Islam, it also comprises an insult to Jesus and detracts from his status.

It is strange that Christians mention this name in some of their distorted Gospels and claim that by doing so they praise ‘Eesa, may Allaah exalt his mention, with reference to the story of redemption, which is essentially unfounded.

Therefore, this wording that is mentioned in the question is invalid and it is based on falsehood; therefore, it can only be described as falsehood. For more benefit on the falsehood of the redemption, please refer to Fataawa 90986 and 131857.

For more benefit on some facts about the falseness of the Christian religion and the contradictions in the Gospels, please refer to Fataawa 8210, 10326 and 90449.

Allaah Knows best.
