Asking In-Depth Questions about the Attributes of Allah

Question

What is our approuch towards the Speech of Allaah saying that there is not the smallest resemblance between the Creator and Creation?Because if person A reads the Ayah: "Alhamdu lillaahi rabbil Aalemin"and person B says as a statement from his self: "hamdulillah"there would be a resemblance between what we hear from Person A and what we hear from Person B, but there is not even the smallest resemblance between the speech of the creator and the speech of human beeings? And also a salafi schaykh said explaining the attribute of Allaah, " a Ant has a Leg and a Elephant has a Leg but there is not a similarity between the two" but there is similarity between the two for example both are filling space or both are connected to the body or both have a free side which is not connected. Is it correct to say that the leg/foot of the creator is in relation to the leg/foot of the creation like a relation between a elephants leg and a ants leg? Because I believe that this is wrong because you stated in your fatwa 31338 that there is no resemblance between the creator and the any of his creation. So I say, because of your statement, "There is no point in similarity between the creator and creation even in small details." Can you help you give me a answer so that I would believe sound?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

We have already issued Fataawa about what you asked on our Arabic website and we have clarified therein that absolutely refuting the resemblance is not correct, and that what is negated in the Quran is similarity.

Since you write to us sometimes in Arabic, then it is sufficient to refer you to Fataawa 198743 and 220240.

We advise you, first of all, to fear Allah. You should avoid asking such in-depth questions and detailed issues, especially in regard to the Names and Attributes of Allah. You should not indulge in matters which the Salaf (righteous predecessors) did not indulge in about the attributes of Allah. it is enough for you to believe that there is nothing like unto Allah and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.

We also noticed in your previous questions that you are asking in-depth questions and get in too many details without need, so you we advise you to refrain from this.

Allah knows best.
