Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Indeed, your grandfather and your uncles did well by nurturing you while you were a child and being kind to you and they will be rewarded for doing so, Allaah willing.

Indeed, you should return the good they did for you, and among being good is to be grateful to the good that others did for you, and you should supplicate for them and you should be kind to them as much as possible. ‘Abdullaah Ibn ‘Umar may Allaah be pleased with him said: “The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “Whoever did you a kindness, you should recompense him, and if you have not the means to compensate him, then supplicate for him until you feel that you have compensated him.” [Abu Daawood]

However, the good that your grandfather and your uncles did for you does not drop the status of your father and his right upon you that you should be kind and dutiful to him within what is permissible; this is a right to which he is entitled according to the Sharee’ah. In fact, his right is not rivaled by the right of any other relative; for more benefit on the status of the parents, please refer to Fataawa 82254 and 84942.

Finally, we advise you to be wise in convincing your father that you should seek the advice of your uncles as a way of being kind to them and recompensing them for the good they did for you, and in order to avoid that people utter slander against you.

Allaah Knows best.
