Two Bomb Attacks in Turkey Injure 6 Police Officers
Six police officers were injured, two seriously, when a suspicious case outside a government office in Ankara blew up in their faces as they were checking it. Remarkably no-one was killed in the blast. The security officials had been called to the building where new judges are trained. Later another bomb nearby exploded. No one has claimed responsibilities for the blasts. Several left wing and Kurdish militant groups have carried out bomb attacks in Turkey in recent years. **PHOTO CAPTION*** Turkish explosive experts lie injured after a suspect bag exploded in Ankara, Turkey in this image taken from TV Friday Aug. 1, 2003.
