Iran Rejects Nuclear Surrender

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said his country will not submit to pressure over its nuclear programme.

In a defiant speech broadcast on state TV, he said Iran would never give up its right to peaceful nuclear energy.

Hours earlier US President George Bush, giving his State of the Union address, said the world must not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.

The UN's nuclear watchdog is to meet on Thursday to consider calls to report Tehran to the UN Security Council.
