Blast outside Afghan air base

A suspected suicide bomber has detonated his explosives outside an air base used by US forces in Afghanistan, the US military says.

Details of casualties in the attack at the Bagram air base, about 60km north of the capital Kabul, on Wednesday were not immediately clear.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.

Separately, the Nato-led International Security Assistance Force (Isaf), which is fighting alongside US forces in Afghanistan, said that three of its soldiers had died in a roadside blast in the south of the country.
