All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
We have already issued a Fatwa to you clarifying that it is permissible to study such sciences based on the general rule which is that in principle all the customs are permissible unless there is evidence which prohibits it.
This rule is supported by much evidence. For instance, Allaah Says (what means): {It is He who created for you all of that which is on earth.}[Quran 2:29] Allaah also Says (what means): {And He has subjected to you- whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth — all from Him.}[Quran 45:13]
Hence, whoever issues a religious ruling that it is forbidden to study such sciences, is required to provide evidence for its prohibition.
Consequently, it is permissible to study such a science, Allaah willing, based on the principle which we already mentioned.
However, it is an obligation on whoever teaches this science to clarify according to his ability what contradicts the Islamic religion in it.
