Calling wife either by her name or by her nickname

Question:

Asslam Ole Kum (rob) Can we muslim call our wife by there name. As in india we use to call by there name, but where as in midle east they called by there children name. What sharia says about this?
Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

 

Calling the wife by her name or calling her by her nickname [like saying Um Faatimah] are both permissible, and both ways are confirmed from the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ). However, it is better that one calls his wife according to the customs of the society.
