'Salt saves from 70 diseases'

May Allah keep us on the true path of Islam. Aameen.
Someone told me a hadeeth that
"Starting meal(Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast) with salt saves from 70 diseases."
May Allah reward you for the same,And the Reward depends upon your intention.
Remember all in duaas.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

 

This Hadeeth was narrated by Al-Haarith ibn Abi Usaamah in his Musnad on the authority of ‘Ali attributing it to the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. A group of scholars, such as Ibn Al-Jawzi, Ibn Al-Qayyim, As-Suyooti, Ash-Shawkaani and Mulla ‘Ali Al-Qaari’, classified it as a Mawdhoo‘ (fabricated) Hadeeth.
