All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
It is not obligatory on a husband to make his wife do Hajj from his own money; however, if he does, then he does good to her and will be rewarded for that, and this is a form of perfect, kind treatment to her. But, he will not be sinful if he does not donate the cost of Hajj to her because he is not obliged to do so, and none of the jurists stated that the husband is obliged to go out with his wife for doing Hajj. Shaykh ‘Abd al-Kareem Zaydaan said: “It is not one of the wife’s rights over the husband that he bears the costs of her Hajj or shares the costs with her.”
We advise your husband, if he is able, to take you to do Hajj as long as this causes no harm to him, and he will be rewarded for helping you to worship Allaah Almighty, Allaah Wiling. We advise you to obey him regarding what he orders you and not to impose on him what is beyond his ability or keep asking him for what he is not obliged to do for you. Not doing Hajj during those two years is not a sign that Allaah Almighty is angry with you, Allaah Willing, for the one who is not able to do Hajj is not blamed for delaying it. That is because Hajj is only obligatory on the one who is able for Allaah Almighty Says (what means): {And [due] to Allaah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House – for whoever is able to find thereto a way} [Quran 3: 97]
Not being able to do Hajj is not a sign that Allaah Almighty is angry with someone. However, if you have enough money to do Hajj, then Hajj is obligatory upon you, for you are able to do it. It is recommended to seek the permission of your husband to go for Hajj. If he gives you permission, then all is well; otherwise, it is permissible for you to go out for Hajj, even without his permission, if you have a Mahram. That is the preponderant opinion of scholars because Hajj is to be done immediately and there is no obedience to any creature if it involves disobedience towards Allaah Almighty.
Allaah Knows best.
