Visiting Amusement Parks and Summer Resorts

What is the religious ruling on going to summer resorts for amusement purposes for the children and not for tourism?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

Allah, the Exalted, permitted Muslim women to leave their homes to carry out necessary errands but commanded them to abide by the sharia teachings in this regard. They should not expose their beauty or adornments, wear perfumes, mingle with non-mahram (permanently unmarriageable) men in a forbidden manner, look at men's ‘awrahs (i.e. what should be concealed of a person's body), or be in places where indecent and prohibited acts are practiced. According to our knowledge of present day summer resorts, these are indecent places where many religious violations are committed, chastity is violated, and ‘awrahs are exposed. It is where men freely mingle with women in an environment of nudity and vulgarity unapproved of by any religion or moral code. So how can a believing woman who believes in Allah, the Exalted, and the Last Day willingly go to such places while they abound in un-Islamic acts that incur His wrath?

If there are summer resorts that are free from such prohibitions and religious violations, then there is no harm for a Muslim woman to visit them in the company of her eldest sons or husband.
