Can you tell me what to recite to stop breastfeeding. Because my daughter does not want to leave it. She cry too much and create the scene. In the end I have to give. She also need good food. But still need mine. I don't want to angry with her. Please tell me something so my child automatically leave it.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

There is no specific supplication in this regard but you may make any supplication. There are some general supplications that you can make like the supplication reported by Ibn Hibbaan may Allaah have mercy upon him in his Saheeh, that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “O Allaah! Nothing can be easy except that which You make easy, for You make any hard matter easy if You wish.

You may also supplicate with the supplication reported by Abu Daawood may Allaah have mercy upon him that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "The supplication of a person in distress is: O Allaah, it is Your Mercy that I hope for, so do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for the blink of an eye and rectify for me all of my affairs. None has the right to be worshipped except You.

For more benefit on some useful supplications, please refer to Fatwa 173763.

You may also perform Ruqyah on her as it is beneficial, Allaah willing. You may also recite some verses or chapters of the Quran on water and give it to her to drink. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 88705.

Do not forget to supplicate Allaah to make it easy for her to stop breastfeeding.

On this occasion, take note that a woman should not hasten to wean her child as the Sharee’ah specified the breastfeeding period to two years as there is a great benefit for the child in this. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 82650.

Allaah Knows best.
