All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
It is absolutely prohibited to have statues of living creatures, even if they are put in the bathroom or in any other place. Once Shaykh Ibn Baaz was asked: “We know that hanging pictures (of living creatures) in homes is prohibited. Can we hang them in the bathroom, whether they are three-dimensional or not?”
Answer: “It is obligatory to remove these pictures and destroy them. You should not keep them neither at home nor in the bathroom, for the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said to ‘Ali : “Spare no statue unwiped, and leave not a high grave unleveled.””
It is incumbent to cut off the head of the statue and wipe out its features and it is not obligatory to get it out of the house after that.
Allaah Knows best.
