All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
This Hadeeth was classified as weak by Al-Albaani in his book Silsilat Al-Ahaadeeth Adh-Dha‘eefah; he said, “Its Isnaad (chain of narrators) is weak and its content is Munkar, i.e. differs from what is reliable.”
There is another Hadeeth that is sufficient in this regard, reported on the authority of Umm Haani’ bint Abi Taalib . She said: “The Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, walked past me one day so I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, I have become old and weak – or something similar to this – so tell me of a good deed that I can do while I am sitting.’ He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “Say ‘Subhaan Allaah’ one hundred times for it is equivalent to freeing one hundred slaves from the offspring of Ismaa‘eel; and say ‘Al-Hamdu li-llaah’ one hundred times for it is equivalent to one hundred horses saddled with reins ready to carry fighters in the cause of Allaah; and say ‘Allaahu Akbar’ one hundred times for it is equivalent to one hundred camels slaughtered for the sake of Allaah; and say ‘La Ilaah Illa Allaah’ one hundred times.” Ibn Khalaf (the narrator from ‘Aasim) said, “I think he said: ‘…it fills what is between the heavens and the earth, and on that day out of all the deeds that are risen to Allaah, none will be better than yours except for a person who said what you said.’” [Ahmad) Al-Munthiri, Al-Haythami, and Al-Albaani classified it as Hasan (good).
Allaah Knows best.
