The suitor's privilege over other non-Mahram men

Question:

What is the Sharee‘ah ruling on a woman going out with her fiancé although the marriage contract has not yet been concluded?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

A woman is not allowed to go out with her fiancé alone before the conclusion of the marital contract. A suitor is like other non-Mahram men to that woman. The only privilege he enjoys is that others are not permitted to propose to that woman when she has agreed to marry him. Nevertheless, he is not permitted to enjoy her through either looking at her, meeting her in seclusion or going out with her, unless they have concluded their marriage contract.

Allaah Knows best.
