All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Since your wife - -has repented to Allah and done good deeds, then her repentance is accepted - Allah willing. Allah Says (what means): {And it is He who accepts repentance from his servants and pardons misdeeds, and He knows what you do.} [Quran 40:25]
The fact that she repented when she was sick does not prevent her repentance from being accepted, regardless of how serious her sickness was. Repentance is accepted from a person as long as he/she does not breath his/her last.
Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen was asked: “What is the ruling on the repentance of a patient who suffers from cancer?
He replied:
“His repentance is valid as long as the death rattle has not yet reached his throat. None of the scholars has ever said that the repentance of the person who is brought to be killed is not acceptable.” [End of quote]
