All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
The view we adopt here in Islamweb is that whoever abandons Tawaaf Al-Wadaa’ (farewell Tawaaf) during Hajj has to offer a sacrifice.
Al-Kharqi said in his Al-Mukhtasar:
"If he (the pilgrim) leaves (i.e. Makkah) before performing the farewell Tawaaf, he must return (to perform it) if he is near. However, if he is far away, then he must send a sacrifice.” [End of quote]
What you have mentioned about the fear of missing your company does not exempt you from the obligation of offering the sacrifice as an expiation for not performing the farewell Tawaaf.
Kash-Shaaf Al-Qinaa’ Ma’a Al-Iqnaa’ reads:
"Whether he (the pilgrim) abandons it, i.e. the farewell Tawaaf, (intentionally, mistakenly, or forgetfully) for an excuse, or without an excuse, (he must offer a sacrifice). This is because it is one of the obligations of Hajj, and thus, what is done intentionally or mistakenly, and whether with an excuse or without an excuse, (all) are the same; just like all other obligations of Hajj.” [End of quote]
Based on the above, the you are obliged to offer a sacrifice because of not performing the farewell Tawaaf.
It is sufficient for you to appoint someone to slaughter a sheep (on your behalf) in the Haram (i.e. in the vicinity of Makkah) and distribute it to its poor.
