Impurity Splashed His Body, Clothes, and The Floor

Question:

When defecating if najis water splashed onto me such as on my thigh or buttocks or arm , I would firstly wash my private parts ( I wouldn’t wash the area where the impure splashes landed ) and then I would go to sink , wet my hands and thouroghly rub them on the areas where the splashes came . I did this 2-3 times . Do I become pure by this? Also whilst doing so some water drops fall on the floor and my lower leg , are they pure or najis. If they are najis then there is a problem , because i don’t clean those drops and in bathroom I also step on them with my slippers and with same wet slippers I also walk in my room and outside the bathroom with those slippers. Do all the places I walk become impure ? I see dried water traces on the floor.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

If you doubt the ritual purity of the water that splashes onto your body, then it is to be judged as ritually pure. However, if you become certain that it is impure, you can purify the tainted area by pouring water over it until no trace of the splashed water is left. The Maaliki scholar Al-Hattaab may Allaah have mercy upon him said in Mawaahib Al-Jaleel: “If water is poured over the ritual impurity until it submerges it, it (the impurity) is (considered) removed and the tainted area becomes ritually pure. If the water used in removing the impurity rushes towards another area, be it the floor, a part of the body, or clothing, then that area remains ritually pure as long as the rushing water is not changed (by the impurity). If it is changed (affected by the color, smell, or taste of the impurity), it is judged to be ritually impure and water should be poured over it until it runs off unchanged.” [End of Quote]

Accordingly, if you have poured water over the area tainted with ritual impurity until no trace of the impurity remained, then the contaminated area became ritually pure and the drops that fell from this water do not render impure what they fell on of your body or clothes.

Also, your feet and slippers are not rendered impure due to the water that falls on the bathroom floor; accordingly, the areas on which you walk outside the bathroom while wearing the same slippers do not become ritually impure.

Lastly, we would like to warn you against Waswasah (satanic whisperings) as they cause grave harms. Hence, you should totally disregard such whisperings and pay absolutely no attention to them.

Allah Knows best.
