Working in Health Insurance Entering Data

Question:

Is health insurance based data entry jobs halal or haram?
Example: Entering name,place,state,amount etc.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, is His slave and Messenger.

There are two kinds of insurance: the first kind, which is the Takaaful (cooperative) insurance, is permissible, and the other kind which is the commercial insurance, and it is the more common type, is prohibited. If the insurance in reference is the prohibited commercial insurance, then it is impermissible to work in it, and doing its data entry involves cooperation in sin. It is impermissible, given the general indication of the Saying of Allah, The Exalted (which means): {and do not cooperate in sin and aggression, and fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in punishment.} [Quran 5:2] Moreover, it was narrated on the authority of Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullah, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah cursed the one who consumes Riba (interest) and the one who pays it, the one who writes it down, and the two who witnesses it, and he said: “They are all the same (in sin).” [Muslim] Commenting on the Hadeeth, An-Nawawi said: “It is deduced from the Hadeeth that it is prohibited to help others in what is wrong (i.e. in falsehood).”
