Creating Crossword Puzzles for Teaching the Translation of the Quran

Question:

Assalam Alaikum. I am creating crossword puzzles and word search activities to teach the translation of the Quran to a group of youths. I give them the clue in English and they have to write the Arabic word from the Quran in the crossword puzzle. For word searches, they look in the scattered letters for Arabic words from the Quran. Is this acceptable? The intention is pure learning and the kids are engaged because they like these activity. Please advise me on this. Salaam

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

In our view, there is no legal impediment for preparing such an activity and making use of it in teaching the Noble Quran and the Arabic language. The basic principle about teaching means (materials) and the like is permissibility unless there is evidence that indicates its prohibition.

Allah knows best.
