Benefits of Du’a and Ruqyah

Question:

I'm facing worsened focus, memory loss, and these type problems ( previously existed but not to the point to consider serious)and frequent bad heavy dreams, not snake or dog type(often after sleeping again post-Fajr or at this type time) despite doing night adhkar. I suspect evil eye but am unsure. If the cause isn’t clear, is doing ruqyah still valid and beneficial? Will it help even if it's not spiritual? Are there authentic hadith that support doing ruqyah in such uncertain cases

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

There is no doubt that frequent Du’a (supplication) and performing the prescribed Quranic and Prophetic Ruqyah (incantation) are highly beneficial. Whether what you are experiencing is due to the evil eye or something else, Ruqyah is beneficial in all cases. This is supported by the Quran, where Allah says: {And We send down of the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy for the believers.} [Quran 10:57]. Similarly in another verse, He says: {Say: It is, for those who believe, a guidance and a healing.} [Quran 41:44]

Furthermore, it is authentically reported that the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, performed Ruqyah on others in various illnesses, and he instructed his Companions to recite specific supplications during distress, sorrow, and other states.

Therefore, you should adhere to the established supplications from the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, and frequently turn to Allah by making Du’a, as there is much goodness in that, Allah willing.
