Question:

Excuse my poor English please. I have been married one month and I want to know if my wife can be on the pill to control pregnancy. Is it forbidden by religion?

Answer:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be
upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

You should know that children are a grace of Allah bestowed on you , and you should not refuse the blessing of Allah. In a sound Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (Blessings andf peace of Allah be upon him) said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three: A continuous charity, Knowledge by which people derive benefit, Pious child who prays for him”. Since you do not have any child, it is better to avoid birth control. Birth control is permissible only in exceptional cases. It is very possible that using tablets to stop pregnancy is like AZAl (coitus interruptus), which was used during the time of Prophet. Jabir(May Allah pleased with him)narrated:“We used to practice coitus interruptus during the life time of Allah’s apostle while the Quran was being revealed". But if these tablets cause permanent sterility, then using them is prohibited. Allah knows best.
