Question:

How can a person overcome his obsessions that his Wudu and praying and cleanliness are not right so, he is always anxious and feel bad?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

First of all, please refer to Fataawa 81775 and 82866.

In addition, we inform you that after completing your ablution and Ghusl, you should not pay any attention to the whispers that you might have in this regard. The cure for these whispers is that after completing your recommended Tahaarah (purity – either ablution or Ghusl), do not pay any attention to these whispers, because after completing Tahaarah doubt does not affect it. So, you should ask refuge with Allah and supplicate Him as much as possible. Pray to Allah to relieve you from these whispers which cause anxiety. Try to perform ablution with Muslims and pray with them as they do not face doubts in their Tahaarah and prayers; this will help you too to be far from these whispers.

For more benefit on whispers about impurity, please refer to Fataawa 394171, 386950, and 386812.

For more benefit on whispers in general, please refer to Fatwa 374308.

Allah knows best.
