Question:

I'm a married woman 24 years old. I got to know great guy on the net and fell in deep love with him. I don't know maybe I didn't feel the real love from my own husband. Anyway, this guy convinced me and encouraged me to pray and I did but, I wonder if my prayers are accepted because I make love with this guy on the chat?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Chatting on Internet can be a useful means for people to get to know each other and to share useful information and knowledge. At the same time, it can also be a means for seduction, evil and trap of Satan if it is misused.

Indeed, you, the enquiring sister, have fallen into the trap of Satan and committed a great sin by loving this man who is forbidden to you. Though this person made a good deed by calling you to perform prayers, but at the same time, he committed evil by causing mischief between you and your husband. The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “Whoever sow dissension between a husband and his wife is not from among us.” [Ahmad]

Therefore, both of you must immediately repent to Allah, stop this chatting and cut off all communication. Moreover, you should consult your husband to solve any problems. Try to find out the reasons that make him turn away from you and which weakened the love between you. It is better for you than chatting with non-Mahram men.

As for the acceptance of your prayers, they are accepted and you are rewarded for them as long as you perform them sincerely and according to the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ).

Allah Says (what means): {So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it.} [Quran 99: 7]

In addition, if one commits sins, he deserves punishment for that, but Allah accepts the repentance of every sinner. Allah Says (what means): {And [there are] others who have acknowledged their sins. They had mixed a righteous deed with another that was bad. Perhaps Allah will turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.} [Quran 9: 102]

We ask Allah to guide you and enable you to repent, and help you against the evil of yourself and Satan.
