Question:

Are you familiar with a Jamaat called Ahle-e-Hadith in India? Is it right to follow them?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Ahlul-Hadeeth group in India is the name of those who follow the method of the Salafi School. They try to implement Islam just as presented in the Quran, practised by the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) and followed by the righteous predecessors without being biased to personalities or scholars.

Indeed, this is the true way that must be followed by every Muslim. However, we should differentiate between a true method and between the practices of the followers of that method. This method without a slight doubt is correct since it is based on the Quran, the Sunnah, and the understanding of the righteous predecessors. However, the practice of the followers of that method is not free from shortcoming. They may be right in their practice or might be wrong based on their understanding, adherence and implementation of this method.

Allaah Knows best.
