Question:
I am married and my husband gets angry every time. I tell him to pray in time or attract his attention to a mistake he did. What do you think I should do?
Answer:
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Neglecting to pray in time is an obnoxious act and its consequences are bad. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {So woe to the worshippers Who are neglectful of their Prayers,}[107:5-6]. What is meant in the verse are those who delay praying until the fixed time of the prayer passes. This is how Ibn Abbas and Masruq interpreted this verse. So, it is compulsory on your husband to pray obligatory prayers in their fixed times. Similarly, it is your duty to advise him and urge him not to delay prayers. But you should use a soft style and should be ready to bear his reactions if they are not appropriate. Keep on making Du'a for him. We supplicate Allah The Almighty to guide you and your husband to the right path and make you both adhere to His religion.
Allah knows best.
