Insulting the Holy Prophet is Kufr

Question:
While chatting with a female through the net, she gave some very bad abuse to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam). From that day I am feeling guilty that because of me, she used some very bad words to our Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam). What should I do as a compensation for that act?
Answer:
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Saying blasphemous words to the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) is Kufr that drives the one who does it away from Islam. So, any Muslim who happens to say so, should renew his Islam as he is no longer considered Muslim because of such obnoxious act.
But merely hearing someone insult the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) is not Kufr unless the hearer accepts what he heard. It is obligatory upon any person who hears someone insulting the holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) to deny that with his hand if he can other wise with his tongue otherwise with his heart.
Now, we advise you to repent to Allah and multiply invocations upon the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) and in the future try to avoid any dispute or argument that could cause a protagonist to say blasphemous words to our beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam).
Allah knows best.
