All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
You should first advise your brother-in-law, as advising is part of our religion, as stated by the Prophet . Look for the reasons that incite his anger; if they are sound, such as being enraged did to him seeing practices that are contrary to the Islaamic legislations or customs, then you have to avoid them in order not disobey Allaah and in order avoid enraging your brother-in-law. Additionally, if the jealousy of the husband is due to reasonable grounds, like the woman exposing her beauty and not covering what should be covered in the presence of her paternal or maternal cousins, the jealousy of the husband is proper, and you are wrong. But if it is without a sound reason, and this could cause dissension among yourselves, so you can inform him in a good and soft manner not to visit you.
Allaah knows best.
