Question:
A husband (A) and wife (B) have their first son (C). they decide of marrying there son (C) to wife (B)'s elder sister (D)'s youngest daughter in the future, then wife (B) expires. Now husband 'A' marries wife B's elder sister D's eldest daughter. Then they carry on with there lives and have kids. Now the first wife B's son 'C' will get married to his mother B's elder sister D's younger daughter (i. e his father's second wife's younger sister) as told during childhood and carry on.
Can you please tell me whether all this are allowed in Islaam, i.e., 'A' getting married to his wife B's elder sister D's daughter after the death of his wife 'B'. And later on son 'C' getting married to his mom B's elder sister's younger daughter (i.e. his father's second wife's younger sister).
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
There is no harm, Insh'a Allaah, in this man marrying his wife's niece after his wife passed away. What is forbidden is for a man to be married to a woman and her aunt at the same time, but if his wife dies or he divorces her an irrevocable divorce, then it is permissible for him to marry his wife's niece. There is no harm also for the son of this man to marry the daughter of his maternal aunt which is mentioned in the question.
Allaah knows best.
