Age for circumcising male children

Question:

Please when is the best time [age] to carry circumcision on male children, Islamicly and medically?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

The Islamic law has not defined a desirable time or age for circumcision, but it is more appropriate that this be done while the child is young, when it is not forbidden to look to his private parts. Some scholars are of the opinion that it is desirable for the circumcision to be done on the seventh day. It is proven by experience that performing circumcision when the child is very young especially at the very early days of his birth is easier for the child and he heals much quicker. Nonetheless, you can seek the advice of a trustworthy doctor in this regard.

Allaah knows best.
