All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
The jurists stated that it is disliked for a praying person to tie his hair. Their evidence for this is that the Prophet said: "Prostrate on seven limbs and not tie any clothes or hair."
It is worth mentioning here that it is not permissible for a man to keep his hair long in a style that resembles women's hair, and it is not permissible for him also to tie it in a way that resembles the way women tie their hair.
As regards the name Talhah, it is the singular of the word Talh, which means bananas or a kind of a very huge tree with plenty of leaves which grows in the Arabic peninsula.
