There is no real picture of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam

Question:

Is it true that Muslims in the past have drawn pictures of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and made statues of him?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

 

There is no picture which really represents the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, as he forbade taking pictures and drawing portraits, and he ordered that pictures be destroyed.

We clarified in Fatwa 85530 that whoever claims that he has a picture of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, or any other prophet is a liar; so please refer to this Fatwa.
