All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
The parents have a great status and their children are obliged to be kind and dutiful to them. Whenever it is possible for the children to achieve this objective and please them, they should do so. For more benefit, please refer to Fataawa 86620 and 84942.
Therefore, we advise you to convince your parents to agree with you to marry soon without delay, and reside in your country with your wife if you are unable to bring her to reside with you in the country where you work. If you succeed to convince them, all perfect praise be to Allaah, otherwise you are not obliged to obey them since you are harmed by staying single because of delaying marriage and by staying away from your wife (after marriage). Indeed the scholars stated that the children are not obliged to obey their parents in things that could cause harm to them [children]. The Prophet said: "There should be no harm nor reciprocal harm." [Ahmad].
Finally, it should be noted that marriage is a means of becoming rich; this is stated in the Quran and the Sunnah. Allaah Says (what means): {And marry those among you who are single (i.e. a man who has no wife and the woman who has no husband) and (also marry) the pious, fit and capable ones of your (male) slaves and maid-servants (female slaves). If they be poor, Allaah will enrich them out of His Bounty. And Allaah is All-Sufficient for His creatures needs, All-Knowing (about the state of the people).} [Quran 24:32]. Furthermore, the Prophet said: "There are three kinds of people who have the right on Allaah to help them (financially): … a person who marries in order to preserve his chastity (i.e. avoid any illegal sexual intercourse)."
Therefore, your parents should be reminded with the above meanings.
Allaah Knows best.
