The ruling of fish farming

Question:

Is fish farming halal or haram in Islam?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

Fish farming is permissible, Allaah willing, if this does not lead to any harm, as in principle all things are permissible and we do not know any religious text which prohibits it.
