All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
There are many controversies about the book 'Safwatu At-Tafaaseer' authored by Shaykh Mohammad 'Ali As-Saabooni . Four contemporary scholars wrote some comments on it, such as the publication entitled: 'Important remarks on the book 'Safwatu At-Tafaaseer'. All in all, the students of knowledge who can distinguish between the truth and falsehood, and between the authentic Prophetic narrations and the weak ones, is one who may read this book. On the other hand, the general common Muslims who do not have this knowledge are advised not to read it.
As regards the book 'Aysar At-Tafaaseer' authored by Abu Bakr Al-Jazaa'iri then this is one of the contemporary clear interpretations of the Quran which contained much benefit. There might be some minor remarks about it, which is normal since it is only the Book of Allaah that is infallible.
Anyway, a student of knowledge should rely on a trustworthy scholar from whom he should receive knowledge and he should not rely on reading books only. If he reads a book and finds some difficulties in understanding it, he may ask the scholars. Allaah Says (what means): {…so ask the people of the message if you do not know.}[Quran 16:43].
Allaah Knows best.
