A passenger plane is reported to have crashed in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.
It's not yet clear how many casualties there were but one report suggested 37 people may have died. The country's emergencies minister was quoted as saying the aircraft involved was a Soviet-built Yak-40.
Such jets are frequently used for short flights within former Soviet states. Air safety has been a major concern for Soviet-built aircraft, though standards have been tightened since the early post-communist years.
