Troubled relation with sister in law

19-11-2017

Question Assalamu alaykum. First of all, thank you for your assistance. I would like to know about my rights regarding my sister-in-law. She has been living with us for a long time. From the beginning, she never helped me with the tasks, she comes and goes as she wishes, but she comes at lunch time with everything ready. She just does some things when my husband is at home. She does not show any respect for me and takes every chance to make that clear; for instance, she leaves empty bottles in the middle for me to throw them, or when I have just finished to clean the kitchen, she leaves a gla...... Follow their Footprints

22-10-2017

There have been people who insisted on leaving their imprints on life, and this is why history has immortalized their mention. They formed the civilization of their Ummah (nation); their renaissance became a source of goodness and light for the entire world, and they were the lanterns which lit the way for the West during their age of darkness. Al-Hasan – The devoted scholar and hunter o...... More

Celebrating the Prophet's birthday according to some scholars

19-11-2017

Question: What is the ruling regarding those who celebrate the birthday of the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam? Fatwa: All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger. Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.} [Quran 3:31] In a Hadeeth (narration) on the authority of ‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with h...... Motivation to repentance

31-10-2017

Sinning may be recognized as a hereditary trait, for who resembles his father and does no evil? But if the father is restored after failing, let the emulation of him be at both poles, of the negative and the positive. Adam, may Allah exalt his mention, was struck with remorse and filled with repentance over his past deeds. Any of his children who follows him as a model of sinning only, and not in repentance, is mis-taken. Dedication to untainted goodness is from the traits of the Angels. Devotion to uncor-rected evil is in the nature of devils. But, returning to good and correctness after sli...... More

Draw Closer to Your Lord - I

02-11-2017

When a person contemplates the state of people who are trapped in forbidden lusts and those who pursue the satisfaction of their instincts and desires, you will find that they share a common factor, which is evident in their every movement and moment of repose, and which is reflected in their facial features: a weak connection with Allah The Almighty. How can a heart which is connected to Allah ...... More

The Prophet's Birthday - A Caution against Innovation - I

15-11-2017

It is not permissible to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, or somebody else. In fact, it must be stopped, as it is an innovation in the religion. The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, neither celebrated it, nor commanded others to do this for himself or for any one who died before him amongst the Prophets, for his daughters, his wives, or his other relatives. ......
