Question:

Can we use perfume during fasting (Ramadan)? Is there any restrictions to use?

Fatwa:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, may Allah exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

Using perfumes, attars, and scented soaps during fast is permissible. And bad smells do not affect the fast either. Smells, whether good or bad usually do not have sufficient substance to enter the stomach. The Muslim scholars differ regarding incense. Some scholars dislike using it during fast while others believe that inhaling it breaks fast since its material parts reach the stomach.

The correct opinion is that smelling incense also does not break fast even though one should refrain from using it to avoid any doubts.

Allah knows best.
