Question

Will all those who do not embrace Islam enter Hell even if they perform good deeds? Please provide an answer quoting Quranic verses or Prophetic Hadeeths (narrations).

Fatwa

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His Slave and Messenger.

The answer is definitely yes. He who doubts this fact will be considered a disbeliever like them. The following is evidence for this:  Allah The Almighty Says (what means):

• {And whoever desires other than Islam as religion -- never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.} [Quran 3:85]

• {But whoever disbelieves in it from the [various] factions -- the Fire is his promised destination} [Quran 11:17]

• {Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to discriminate between Allah and His messengers and say, "We believe in some and disbelieve in others," and wish to adopt a way in between -Those are the disbelievers, truly. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.} [Quran 4:150-151]

Moreover, the Prophet swore by Allah The Almighty that any Christian or Jew who hears of him and does not believe in him before he dies will enter Hell. [Muslim]

Sa‘eed ibn Jubayr, may Allah be pleased with him, supported this with the Quranic verse in which Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {But whoever disbelieves in it from the [various] factions -- the Fire is his promised destination.} [Quran 11:17]

Additionally, the Muslim Ummah (nation) has agreed upon that. Therefore, whoever thinks otherwise would be belying these texts and contradicting sound evidence.
