Fears of a new September 11 have subsided - after checks by French intelligence officers on passenger lists threw up no terrorist links on cancelled Air France flights. The company grounded flights between Paris and Los Angeles on Christian festivals after the US told French authorities there was a credible threat of attacks on the scale of September 11. Most of the passengers have been sent to nearby hotels. A normal service is expected to resume on Friday. Los Angeles authorities have been taking no chances either. It is one of the busiest airports in the world and has twice been targeted in recent years. The US is currently on its second highest terrorist alert. **PHOTO CAPTION*** Travellers push their bags between terminals as Air France passenger planes are seen near boarding gates Roissy Airport north of Paris, December 25, 2003.
