A roadside explosion hit a vehicle from the Canadian embassy on Monday, injuring one Canadian on board, officials said.

Afghan officials said the blast was caused either by a rocket or a homemade bomb. The victim, who was traveling in a marked embassy vehicle, was not identified. There was no immediate word on the extent of the injuries. International peacekeepers in the Afghan capital were investigating the explosion.

The Canadian embassy lies on a busy road running between US and British military bases.
