The Greek judiciary launched an investigation into the possible participation of “Greek volunteers” in the massacre in Srebrenica, Greek Minister of Justice Anastasios Papaliguras said.
“I do not exclude the possibility of responsibility of Greek citizens in the massacre pf Muslims committed by Serb forces in Srebrenica ten years ago”, Minister Papaliguras said before the Parliament last night, AFP reported on Saturday.
“The judiciary opened this file several days ago and launched a preliminary investigation and if requested the Ministry of Justice is prepared to participate in Bosnian and Serb investigation”, the Greek Minister of Justice said.
Minister Andrianopulos requested in October last year the parliament to investigate the participation of “Greek volunteers” in the conflict in Bosnia “on the side of Orthodox Serb brothers”, but without any success, AFP reminded.
He confirmed on Friday evening that the ICTY was also interested in “Greek volunteers” who are thought that have in their dozens participated in the war in Bosnia, but were never a matter of investigation, the AFP stated.
