What are some of the sayings of Fatima bint Muhammad, may Allaah be pleased with her? I would like to know some opinions and words of the leader of the women of Paradise.
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
As far as we know, there were not many reports from Faatimah, may Allah be pleased with her, the daughter of the Prophet and she is not known to have reported many narrations from the Prophet .
Among her sayings is what was reported by Al-Bukhaari and narrated by Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:
“When the ailment of the Prophet intensified, he frequently became unconscious, whereupon Faatimah, may Allah be pleased with her, said, “Oh, how distressed my father is!” He said, “Your father will have no more distress after today.” When he died, she said, “O Father who has responded to the call of his Lord! O Father whose dwelling place is the Garden of Firdaws (the best and highest part of Paradise)! O Father, we announce this news (of your death) to Jibreel (Gabriel).” When he was buried, Faatimah said, “O Anas! How did you manage to scatter dust on the Messenger of Allah?”
Also, Imaam Muslim reported in his Saheeh that the Prophet said to her, “I perceived that my death has drawn near and that you (Faatimah) will be the first amongst the members of my family to follow me. I shall be a good forerunner for you.” Faatimah said, “I wept when I heard this. Then he whispered to me (saying), ‘Would it not please you to be the best of the believing women or the best of the women of this Ummah (community)?’” Faatimah said, “I smiled when I heard this.”
It was also reported that Faatimah said, “I would never say to ‘Aa’ishah something that would harm her.” The incident of this was narrated by ‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, who said, “The Prophet entered upon me while I was crying.” He, said, “Why are you crying?” I said, “Faatimah insulted me.” So he called Faatimah and asked her, “O Faatimah, did you insult ‘Aa’ishah?” She said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He said, “Do you not love whom I love?” She said, “Yes.” He said, “Do you not hate whom I hate?” She said, “Yes.” He said, “I love ‘Aa’ishah, so love her.” So Faatimah made the above statement.
Al-Haythami said in Majma’ Az-Zawaa'id about this hadeeth, “It was reported by Abu Ya’la and Al-Bazzaar in brief, and the chain of narrators includes Mujaalid, whose hadeeth is good, and the remaining narrators are all trustworthy (according to the established criteria set by the scholars)."
Allah knows best.
