Prophet’s Father Died when He [Prophet] Was Still in the Womb of His Mother Fatwa No: 455779
- Fatwa Date:27-3-2022
Why was Muhammad SAW was born 2 yrs after his Father's death? Islamophobes use this to indicate that His SAW mother committed Adultery!!!
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was not born two years after his father’s death; this is nothing but a mere and aberrant lie. Rather, his father passed away while his mother was still pregnant (with him). It was narrated on the authority of Qays ibn Makhramah that the, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, father passed away while his mother was still pregnant with him. [Al-Hakim in Al-Mustadrak]
Al-Hakim said: “It is an authentic Hadith that meets the conditions of Muslim, but it was not reported by him or by Al-Bukhari.” Ath-Thahabi also said: “It meets the conditions stipulated by Muslim.”
It is noteworthy that there are other opinions compiled in Seerah (biography) books stating that when the Prophet’s father passed away, he, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was two years and four months old. It was also said that he, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was two months old when his father died. Another view suggested that he, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was seven months old or nine months old according to another view. However, the most likely correct view in this regard is the first opinion stated above, that the Prophet’s father passed away while his mother was still pregnant with him.
Dear questioner, we noticed in your past questions that you are plagued with reading about the misconceptions promoted by the enemies of Islam. There is no doubt that this undermines your religiosity as long as you do not have adequate religious knowledge to refute these misconceptions. We would like to advise you to be mindful of Allah, The Exalted, and refrain from reading about the misconceptions raised by the enemies of Islam lest some of them would take root in your heart and it would not be easy for you to get rid of them. The Islamic Sharee’ah urged Muslims to avoid such misconceptions and distance themselves from them and their sources, fearing that they would be influenced by them. It was authentically reported that the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “Let whoever hears of Ad-Dajjaal (Antichrist) distance himself from him for I swear by Allah, The Exalted, that a man will come to him thinking that he is a believer but eventually follows him because of the confusing ideas and misconceptions that he (Ad-Dajjaal) would inculcate in him!” [Abu Dawood]
Ibn Al-Qayyim said: “Distancing oneself from the sources, reasons, and causes of evil is the best solution to get rid of it.” [‘Iddat As-Sabireen]
