Seven killed in Baghdad bombing

A truck bomb has killed at least seven people and injured 14 near a passport office in a busy Sunni area of Baghdad.

The parked vehicle exploded near al-Maghreb street in the northern district of Adhamiya, reports said.
The explosion came days after dozens of people died as female suicide bombers struck a major Shia pilgrimage.
But correspondents say major car bombings are now infrequent events in Baghdad, where violence has fallen to levels not seen since 2004.
The US military recently confirmed that the number of its troops killed in July was the lowest monthly toll since 2003.
Just 12 American troops were killed in July, officials said.
One soldier was confirmed killed and another injured on Sunday, the US military said, marking the first US death in August.
