Four Bomb Plot Accused Remanded

Four men charged with conspiracy to murder in the failed 21 July London attacks have been remanded in custody.

Bomb suspects Muktar Said Ibrahim, 27, Yasin Hassan Omar, 24, and Ramzi Mohammed, 23, appeared before Bow Street magistrates at Belmarsh prison.

The charges faced by Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, 32, relate to an unexploded device found in a park two days after the attacks on three Tubes and a bus.

The four men will next appear at the Old Bailey on 14 November.

Armed police stood guard outside the court as the accused arrived for the hearing in police convoys.

Mr Ibrahim, of Stoke Newington, north London, is suspected of the failed Hackney bus bombing,

Mr Omar, of New Southgate, London, and Mr Mohammed are accused over the attempted Tube bombings at Warren Street and Oval respectively.

In addition to the conspiracy to murder and attempted murder charges, those three are accused of conspiracy to cause explosions and possession of an explosive substance.

Mr Asiedu, of Finsbury Park, north London, is charged with conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause explosions, in relation to the unexploded device found at Little Wormwood Scrubs park on 23 July.

Two other men - Siraj Yassin Abdullah Ali and Wharbi Mohammed - appeared before the court charged with assisting in evading arrest.

Mr Ali is accused of failing to disclose information about Ibrahim Muktar Said and Yasin Omar and assisting Mr Said in evading arrest.

He was remanded in custody until 11 August when he will appear before Bow Street Magistrates in central London, with a committal hearing on 1 September.

Wharbi Mohammed, accused of failing to disclose information about Ramzi Mohamed and assisting Mr Ramzi in evading arrest, was remanded in custody until 11 August, when he will appear before Bow Street magistrates.

Another man, Asias Girma, 20, is accused of failing to disclose information about a terrorist and was also due to appear at Belmarsh.

A fourth suspect, Osman Hussain - also known as Hamdi Isaac - who is alleged to be the failed Shepherd's Bush bomber, is in custody in Italy.

Terrorism Act charges

On Saturday, three men were remanded in custody after being charged under anti-terrorism laws in connection with the attempted bombings.

Shadi Abdel Gadir, 22, and Omar Nagmeloin Almagboul, 20, both of Dyke Road, Brighton, and Mohamed Kabashi, 23, of Mary Magdalene Road, Brighton, have been accused of failing to disclose information that could have helped police investigating the July 21 attacks.

The men appeared in court in central London.

Three other people have also been charged under the Terrorism Act 2000 with failing to disclose information.

They are Yeshshiembet Girma, 28, who is the wife of Mr Hussain, her sister Muluemebet Girma, 21, and Ismael Abdurahman, 23.

The failed 21 July attacks took place two weeks to the day after four suicide bombers killed 52 passengers on the London transport network.
