Please tell us some of the strengths and weaknesses of the famous tafseer series of Shaykh Al-Qaasimee. Thank you.

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

The interpretation of the Quran of the great scholar Jamaalud-Deen Al-Qaasimi entitled Mahaasin At-Ta’weel is one of the beneficial books of Tafseer (interpretation of the Quran). His Tafseer is a reference on the easy and simple creed of the Salaf (the pious predecessors) . The contemporary scholars praised this Tafseer and considered it among the Tafseer of the Salaf which is free of innovations.

However, we have not come across any shortcomings regarding this Tafseer, but we do not suggest that it is infallible. It is only the book of Allaah which is free from deficiencies and imperfections, as stated by Imaam Ash-Shaafi’i .
