All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

The scholars agreed in a consensus that the five daily prayers were prescribed on the night of Mi’raaj as we clarified in Fatwa 84084. However, the scholars differed in opinion about the date of Mi’raaj as we clarified in Fatwa 116141.

However, some scholars are of the view that the prayer was prescribed at the beginning of the mission of the Prophet Muhammad and it was two Rak’as in the morning and two in the evening, but what was prescribed on the night of Israa’ was the five daily prayers.
