Asslamu Alikum, my question is about the legitimacy of the Tafseer by Imam Baghawi? JazakumAllahu kheirun.

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

Al-Baghawi was one of the Imaams of Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jamaa‘ah and one of the people of truth and guidance. He believed in the creed of the righteous predecessors and followed their methodology. His book which is called Ma‘aalim At-Tanzeel is one of the best books of Tafseer (interpretation of the Quran). In Al-Fataawa, Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said, "Comparing the three books of Tafseer in question, the book of Al-Baghawi is the best one with regard to being far from the religious innovations and the weak Ahaadeeth."
