Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj not cloned Fatwa No: 19576
- Fatwa Date:11-11-2007
How can we refute the claim of those who say that Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj (Gog and Magog) will come to exist by means of cloning?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.
Saying that Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj will come to exist by means of cloning is nothing but a groundless lie because it contradicts the story of Thul-Qarnayn that is mentioned in the Quran. In this story it mentions how he blocked their way by building a barrier. Allaah Says (what means):
· {They said, "O Thul Qarnayn, indeed Gog and Magog are [great] corrupters in the land. So may we assign for you an expenditure that you might make between us and them a barrier?"}[Quran 18:94]
This proves that they have existed since that time.
Moreover, this claim contradicts a narration on the authority of Abu Hurayrah where the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, mentioned that Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj cause great corruption in the land and that they are continually digging the barrier everyday. [Ahmad, At-Tirmithi and Ibn Maajah] This also proves that they existed long before the discovery of cloning. This should be sufficient to refute this false claim.
Allaah Knows best.
